PE and Sport - including Sport Premium information
PE Curriculum
Intent- The PE curriculum is designed so that all pupils will be inspired to take part in physical activity, will have the chance to excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. We aim to provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We want to provide opportunities to compete in sport and other activities that build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
Implementation-We follow the National Curriculum guidelines for PE. We will implement the curriculum by enabling children to study four areas of physical education including Gymnastics, Athletics, Games and Dance. They will develop their skills in specific sports such as cricket, football, netball, basketball, swimming, hockey and tennis as well as general skills in fielding, attacking and defending. Through these active sessions they will also learn about healthy lifestyles and the importance of keeping themselves physically active.
We will also provide opportunities for children to engage in competitive sport through Manchester School PE association. We believe that through this the children will have access to a wide range of activities that are taught well,
The impact will be that the children engage in physical activity, are allowed to succeed in and will continue to have a physically active life. The children will have learned how physical activity can enhance mental well-being. Their attitude towards, and ability shown in PE sessions will be reported to parents in their annual report.
